The Amdeya Group will hold its regional financial conference in Istanbul on Thursday 21 October and Friday 22 at the Intercontinental Hotel. The event will be attended by leading bankers from across the region: participants and speakers from 14 regional countries, and the UK have already registered. The ABA's CEO, George Kanaan will be one of the speakers, and our Editor, Andrew Cunningham, will be Master of Ceremonies.
Amdeya has offered ABA members a 40% discount on registration fees: $700 per participant instead of the standard participation fee of $1,200.
Subjects to be addressed at the conference will include:
London-MENA-Turkey linkages: how banks in the region can co-operate.
Institutional investors' objectives in emerging markets.
New global requirements on ESG. How are banks responding?
Fintech challenges and opportunities for banks in the region.
Local and international regulatory compliance.
How to develop regional debt capital markets.
Regional banking in practice: the experience of regionally-mobile bank executives.
Vaccination
Turkey has one of the highest rates for second-dose vaccination: 70.98% on 28 September. Istanbul has a 67% vaccination rate.
This conference is for vaccinated participants only. All participants (including speakers) will have to show (or scan) a copy of their vaccination certificate issued by the country in which they were vaccinated.
The Intercontinental Hotel in Istanbul is recognised as a 'safe island'. All staff have been vaccinated. The hotel is open, including all its restaurants.
London-Istanbul travel
The UK has removed restrictions on travel to/from Turkey for fully vaccinated people. Please note that since Turkey was removed from the UK's 'red' list, flights are getting booked up quickly.
