What does a world with less water mean for the Middle East?

04, May, 2021

This webinar is being presented by SOAS. The speaker will be Peter Schwartzstein, an environmental journalist who specialises in the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean.

The webinar will be on Tuesday 4 May at 5.30pm. It is free to attend, but you need to register using this link.

The blurb for the talk says:

As the dryest part of the planet, the Middle East has never had much water. A potent combination of climate shocks, mismanagement and increasing demand is making the situation much worse. In this talk, Peter Swartzstein will use his years of environmental reporting across the Middle East to explore what a water crisis could mean for lives and livelihoods, while also delving into potential implications for governance and regional stability.
