Presenter Details:
Mike Rainey, Partner, King & Spalding - Mike is a partner in the Middle East & Islamic Finance Practice Group of King & Spalding and is resident in the London office. Mr. Rainey has significant experience in advising Middle Eastern banks, sponsors, borrowers and public bodies in connection with their lending and investment activities in Europe and the Middle East on both a conventional and Shari'ah-compliant basis.
Alan Dundon, Partner, Fideos - Prior to joining FIDEOS in 2008, Alan was Global Head of Fund Administration & Middle Office Outsourcing Product at BNP Paribas Securities Services, where he was responsible for overall product profitability and cross border business and product development across 11 countries globally. In this role, Alan served on the boards of a number of Luxembourg fund structures, as well as BNP Paribas fund servicing companies, notably in the Channel Islands. Alan is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (FCA), holds a BA in Economics and Maths from University College Dublin and is a member of the Luxembourg Ordre des Experts Comptables. He also serves on the board of LIMSA (Luxembourg International Management Services Association) whose aim is to develop and promote the Luxembourg trust market.
Fatah Boudjelida, Partner, Atoz - Fatah started his career with Andersen where he advised international clients in financial, real estate and industrial sector. Fatah joined Atoz at its inception in July 2004 and has worked on the implementation of complex corporate structures involving multiple jurisdictions and advisors, and has worked on structuring several Pan-European real estate transactions. Fatah holds a master in business law degree, a master in general law degree and a post graduate in company law and administration from the University of Strasbourg.
Jamal Afakir, Director, Atoz - Jamal's practice focuses on international and Luxembourg domestic taxation, including the tax aspects of corporate acquisitions, private equity, real estate, structured finance, debt restructuring and Islamic finance. He has over 7 years of experience in Luxembourg and international tax and provides tax advice to international clients. Jamal joined the firm in 2004. Prior to 2004, Jamal had experience in the international tax department of a Luxembourg Big Four firm as well as in Euronext Paris. Jamal received a DESS/DJCE in business and tax law and a Diplôme de Juriste Conseil d'Entreprise in 2001 from the University of Nancy and a Master of Finance in 2003 from EM Lyon Business School. Jamal lectures at the University of Nancy.
